Mlion Corporation recently completed a runway repair at Kalibo International Airport in the Philippines using its Cretecal Grout NanoRepair solution. Kalibo International Airport is a single-runway airport operating under tight maintenance windows and serves as a regional gateway for traffic to Boracay Island. It handles a steady mix of international and domestic flights, making downtime a significant operational constraint.

Works were carried out during a scheduled early-morning window to minimise disruption. The repair team began at 4 am and completed the application in approximately 1 hour, allowing sufficient time for curing before the first scheduled movements.

Early strength development was a key factor in the project. By 8 am, the material had reached a compressive strength of 14 MPa, increasing to 38 MPa by 10 am. This allowed the runway to be returned to service on schedule, with the first aircraft landing at 10 am.

Cretecal NanoRepair is part of Mlion’s Cretecal Series, a range of cementitious grouts developed for concrete repair and rehabilitation.
