Mlion Disaster Relief

In late October 2024, the Philippines faced the devastating impact of Hurricane Kristine, known locally as Tropical Storm Trami, which brought widespread destruction across the archipelago, hitting the province of Camarines Sur especially hard. With torrential rains, severe flooding, and fierce winds, the powerful storm displaced thousands and caused extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods.

As news of the typhoon’s impact reached us, our team in the Philippines proposed organizing relief efforts for those affected in Camarines Sur. Although Mlion had never conducted a disaster relief operation before, we recognized that in times like these, every bit of assistance counts. Despite knowing that our contributions would be modest compared to large-scale relief organizations, we were driven by the urgency of the situation. Within a few short days, we coordinated a relief mission to bring aid to Camarines Sur directly.

The tragedy also struck close to home, as many of our Mlion Philippines Corporation colleagues were directly impacted by the typhoon. This included one of our colleagues, whose own home was flooded but who, undeterred, led the Mlion relief efforts in Camarines Sur, putting the needs of the community above his own. His commitment to supporting his community, inspired us to push ahead with this initiative. At Mlion, we are committed to caring for the communities we serve, and now, it was time to live up to that promise.

Our team set to organize and delivered care bags filled with essential supplies to 300 families. With this small but heartfelt effort, we hope to offer some comfort to those affected and to stand in solidarity with the people of the Philippines as they recover.

In the wake of this tragedy, our thoughts remain with all those affected by Hurricane Kristine. We extend our heartfelt wishes for strength, resilience, and hope to our friends, colleagues, and the wider communities in the Philippines as they begin the journey to rebuild. While the road ahead may be challenging, we believe in the unbreakable spirit of the Filipino people and their ability to overcome. From everyone at Mlion, we wish for a swift recovery and brighter days for all.
