Mlion Corporation participated in the 2024 Singapore International Water Week from 19 – 20 June as exhibitors during the event. The Singapore International Water Week is an event that brings together industry players to share and co-create innovative water, coastal and flood solutions to meet urban water and climate challenges.
As a proponent of innovation and sustainability, Mlion was happy to meet and share with fellow industry leaders how we, as a company, aim to push the needle within the waterfront industry.
Our commitment to advancing the waterfront and steel industries extends beyond our achievements. Embracing a culture of openness and collaboration, we actively seek to inspire and empower our industry peers through shared knowledge and breakthrough innovations. We envision a future of sustainable growth and industry excellence.
During the event, we unveiled our latest project the Biorock coastal protection solution.
Biorock is a technique for promoting coral reef growth. Electrical current passes through a metal structure anchored to the seabed. The layer of calcium carbonate that forms on the structure acts as a substrate that facilitates coral growth. The structures also doubles as breakwaters to reduce coastal erosion.
We are currently looking for collaborators in this project and any who are interested may approach our Chief Corporate Officer Mr Jeremy Ang at [email protected].
Biorock structures have been successfully deployed in many locations, including Indonesia, Thailand, and the Maldives.
Mlion’s time at SIWW was eventful, to say the least. Our Country Manager, Ong Song Yi, conducted a Product Showcase for the attendees, showing how Mlion solutions had helped and could help our customers.
Chairman & CEO Mr Eric Leong also met various industry leaders. He attended a networking session hosted by the Netherlands Embassy delegation at SIWW and welcomed Senior Parliamentary Secretary Mr Yam Keng Baey to our booth. Mr Leong, discussed with Mr Baey how our steel solutions can benefit the construction and waterfront industries. With Singapore being an island nation and our neighbouring nations having large coastlines, we are committed to doing our part as an organisation.
It was an amazing event, and many leaders and professionals worldwide attended. We networked with both attendees and exhibitors from across the globe, including the United States, Belgium, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, China, and many more.
Mlion was also one of the sponsors for the Singapore International Water Week Golf event at Singapore Island Country Club. Chairman & CEO Eric Leong, teed off with fellow industry players on the first day of the event.
Since our establishment in 2011, Mlion has been a supplier for PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency Projects. We are committed to providing quality steel solutions and contributing to Singapore’s coastal protection. We will continue to do so and look forward to meeting our fellows in the Waterfront industry again.
We would like to thank Senior Parliamentary Secretary Mr Yam Keng Baey and all those who visited our booth. It was a pleasure to speak to everyone at the event.
May we move forward and build a better and more sustainable future together.
