Completion of delivery for MICT Berth 7 in 1H 2019.
Mlion Corporation Pte Ltd in 2019 worked with Main Contractor, Prime Metro BMD, to successfully deliver foundation steel requirements for MICT Berth 7 in Manila. The project entailed the reclamation and expansion of the existing Berth 6 adjacent to the new Berth 7. Mlion Corporation worked closely with PrimeBMD to understand the requirements on the project and delivered long length steel pipe piles with interlocks, fully fabricated and delivered to site location. Value engineering works were also done to improve the original design of interlocks to reduce cost and speed up the piling efficiency. Sheet piles were also customised to the required specification and delivered to Berth 7 directly.
During the course of fabrication, PrimeBMD staff visited our factory to understand the process and was satisfied with our performance, safety and quality assurance that was put in place.
PrimeBMD had a tight construction schedule to meet and we had to ensure that our deliveries met a tight window for the usage of Berth 6 to unload the material. Berth 6 was still a live berth with container vessels constantly loading, hence our logistics teams had to liaise constantly with site personnel to coordinate the berthing and unloading of the delivery smoothly for the project.
Upon delivery to site, piling was smooth and our clients were pleased with the quality of the piles and efficiency they achieved during the piling success. Our piles enabled our clients to complete this portion of the project ahead of schedule.
