8th Philippines Ports and Shipping 2015

Mer Lion Metals Executive Director, Eric Leong, spoke at the 8th Philippines Ports and Shipping Conference held at the The Peninsula Hotel Manila on 12-13th Feb 2015.

Eric highlighted the experiences of being an importer in the Philippines market and several ways in which Terminals and Port operators could possibly enhance efficiency given the problems in which Manila Ports have faced during the massive cargo congestion in 2014.

Some of the problems in which he highlighted were Vessel berthing issues, heavy lift and project cargo, transshipment between International Terminals and Domestic Terminals and bulk shipments into provincial ports.

The discussion was a fruitful one and Eric Leong also joined in the Q&A session panel discussion with Mark Millar (M Power Associates), Hector Moille (Philippines Port Authority) and Tim Wickmans (CEO – MCC Shipping).

Mer Lion Metals look forward to being an active stakeholder of the Philippines Ports and Shipping community and will continue to contribute to the development of efficient shipping in Philippines.
